Cleaning Tools for the Computer

Some people use their computer often, while others do not. Whichever the case is, your computer and its peripherals are likely to collect dust, especially in areas you do not use often. Attaining a clean computer is not difficult if you have yourself equipped with the right tools. Here are some of them.
Cleaning Tools for the Computer

The first thing you will need is a cloth. The cloth is best used for components that are outside of the computer, or the ones that you can see and touch like cases, mouse, and drives. As some components of the computer need specific types of product to get them cleaned, not all can be cleaned by cloth. Never use cloth to clean circuitry otherwise it could damage the electronics with the electrostatic discharge that is generated between the frictions.
Another thing that can help you with the cleaning process is water or rubbing alcohol. Using the cloth, you can moisten it with either water or rubbing alcohol as they do not spoil the plastics of your computer. Other types of solvents may cause the plastics to deteriorate, which would especially be troublesome when it is also exposed to the heat generated from the electronic components during use.

A portable vacuum can also be very useful especially when it comes to small, hard to read areas. Apart from dust, dirt, hair, and other particles may get stuck in tight places like between the keys or in the airways. If these block the airflow, the circuitry of the computer may overheat and corrode. A standard vacuum cleaner is not suitable for the job as it can generate static electricity which would end up damaging the computer.
Other than that, you can use cotton swabs for dirt that is stuck on hard to reach parts like the keys of your keyboard, between the mouse buttons, or other possible locations. Just moisten the swabs with water or rubbing alcohol and wipe off the areas. Another option is to use lint-free foam swabs, which work well as well.
With all these tools and a regular routine, you will definitely have a clean computer to attend to.
