Page Mode DRAM: This was used in the old 486 PCs. However with the increase in the performance of system this kind of RAM got outdated very rapidly and it was soon replaced by more efficient DRAMs that could add up to efficiency levels of the system.

FPM DRAM: This stands for First Page mode DRAM. This kind of RAM enables the users to allow access if the previous access is similar or synchronized to the previous access. This kind of RAM was manufactured for various video cards but got outdated soon with the newer technology too.

EDO RAM: Extended Data output DRAM suggests another innovation and progression in the RAM scenario as it enables to give an additional push to the system by reducing the latency time in the system., This enables for faster sequential reading. This kind of RAM is suitable for PCs with 66Mhz motherboards.

BEDO RAM: This stands for Burst Extended Data Output DRAM, and it provides increased performance over EDO RAM. It is hard to find as it got quickly over performed by SDRAM.

EDRAM: Enhanced DRAM provides excellent performance over 50MHz bus speeds. By overcoming the DRAM charging time, it improvises on missing latency in the system.

Multibank EDO EDRAM: suggests the progressions from SRAM and MDRAM with progressions in read write capacities as well.

SDRAM: The synchronous DRAM marks the first high performance RAM. Unlike the older RAMs it synchronizes with the clock speed of the system, combined with the low timing rates it performs incredibly well with the speed of SRAM.

ESDRAM: Enhanced Synchronous DRAM. This RAM is capable of reducing the latency periods and cycle by twice the amount, and at the same time offering high bandwidth with RDRAM. It gains in performance owing to the hybrid technology that it uses.

DDR SDRAM: Double Data Rate Synchronous DRAM is a successful progeny of the SDRAM. It doubles the bandwidth by sending data at the swell and plunge of the clock signal
