If we dwell on that for a while it is apparent that it will be necessary to capture and hold their attention almost immediately and what better way than w a well designed and dramatic banner advertisement. In my own experience with Google AdSense I actually see about 80% or more of the traffic that clicks on advertising do so on the banner advertisements.

The tendency for people to do this is the habit of reading the top part of the page and the left margin first and to then scan the remainder of the page before clicking out. Many people again over 80% never drop below the fold (the part of the page that has to be scrolled down to in order to be read).

It is a fact that the Social Media Sites, in particular Facebook, is starting to drag visitors away from the traditional search engines and in deed to offer many new advertising opportunities.
